Have you considered uninstalling and completely deleting the Plex directory? It sounds like you have some conflicting files that are leftover when upgrading. Some of us Windows users had to remove video drivers and clean the registry.
Thanks for the suggestion Tiebierius. That was one of things I tried early on in this saga with no joy.
Have just done that again. Delete Application, Application Support, Cache and Preference files, then install 1.62.2 and it still hangs as soon as I try to watch Live TV live.
Re-Install 1.46.1 over the top and everything works OK again
Still not fixed - boy this is laughable
any update on this? Would it help if we provide some logs again? You said it was apples fault, but why is it working with 1.46.1?

I have a similar problem and most of them also come up with Error code: 4294967279, but some can play normally after retry, some can not play, I do not know why.

Thought to give this a try againā¦ I experienced the same issue as youā¦ Tried deleting (including settings folders), reinstalling and so on, heck i even did a complete wipe and mac os install onceā¦ Always had to go back to Version 1.46.1
What i did now was disabling hardware decoding under settings ā player
Iām pretty sure i tried this before with no luck, but this time my live tv streams were working again with disabled hardware decoding. Funny enough after i enabled hardware decoding again, the live tv continued working even after restarting the plex app.
Donāt know whatās going on and maybe there was something else changed, but you could give it a try
BTW: This is on Version 1.67.2.3705-db506a00

Like you I have been through all those steps you have tried with no joy.
Already had the hardware decoding disabled in settings > player. Updated to 1.67.2 tried toggling on and off again (saving between changes) with no joy. It still playback error 4294967279 or 4294967280 when attempting to watch Live TV live.

Iām getting throughly pissed off with the lack of action from Plex about this problem.
I have submitted logs and even a video of the problem and other than a few other users commenting that they have the same problemā¦ABSOLUTELY NO FEEDBACK FROM PLEX!

Just adding that I have exactly the same issue. Same issue as reported. The live tv works fine on other devices. Just doesnāt work directly on my Mac.

I keep trying the latest updates hoping they will fix the hanging/crash problem that has been happening since the 1.46.1 version. BUT THEY DON"T FIX IT!
So back to version 1.46.1 I go.
I am not alone with this problem, no-one at Plex seems to care.
What has changed since version 1.46.1 that causes live TV to crash?
What setting do I have to change to to get the latest versions to work?

It has been 12 months since I reported this problem. THATāS RIGHT 12 MONTHS!
I am not the only one affected by this problem.
Apart from
way back in August 2022 there has been SFA help from Plex.
