Playing music and audio books is impossible

I use the Plex Media Server for Synology (DSM 7) very extensively. Among other things, I use the player on three different Fire TV Stick 4K Ultra HD.

Unfortunately, PlexMediaServer-1.23.5.4862-0f739d462-x86_64_DSM7 was the last server version with which the error-free playback of music and audio books on the Fire TV Stick 4K Ultra HD was possible.

All other server versions that followed unfortunately made playing music and audio books almost impossible.

Today I tried the last three server versions again:

  • PlexMediaServer-1.24.0.4930-ab6e1a058-x86_64_DSM7
  • PlexMediaServer-1.24.1.4931-1a38e63c6-x86_64_DSM7
  • PlexMediaServer-1.24.2.4973-2b1b51db9-x86_64_DSM7

The following player version is installed on the Fire TV Stick 4K Ultra HD:

  • 8.21.2.27212

The error with the message (error playing the title) still occurs.

I have the same problem on my Android smartphone and Android tablet with the native app.
The error only seems to occur when I am connected to a normal user account. So far, the error does not occur with the administrator account.

There is a bug with the Android and iOS apps playing back shared music due to a change in PMS 1.23.6. A fix will be coming to PMS soon, but I can’t say when.
