Is there anyway to autoskip credits in a playlist? I have created a playlist of our yearly movie marathon and want it to skip credits and play the next movie without having to interact with the playing device. But I am unable to find a solution. The playlist also shows the total length of movies but includes the credit in their run time and not the movie without credits so I don’t know what the actual runtime is without credits.
The only way I can think to get around this, for our yearly movie marathon, is to use MKVtoolnix and trim out all the credits and then splice the movies together. But this seems to be a huge waste of space on my Plex Server. These movies are UHD so it will be close to a 1 TB for the spliced movies.
Unfortunately, the AutoPlay isn’t working as I would expect it to.
Here are the devices I have tried this on and all produce the exact same result:
2 different Android Smart TVs (1 is an LG and 1 is a Samsung)
1 Xbox Series X
Here are my settings:
Created a Managed User
I have created a playlist with 6 movies in that playlist (I did this step using Plex Web):
“Up Next” is checked
Skip Credits is set to Automatically
Passout Protection is set to Never Prompt
Auto Play Countdown Time Tried Immediate, 5 Seconds, 15 Seconds and 60 Seconds
Granted, I did not watch the entire movie. I fast forwarded until there was about 1 minute to 30 seconds prior to the Credits Started.
Let end of movie play
The Watch Credits bar pops up and does its 5 second count down
Once the Watch Credits bar finishes it goes back to Playlist home screen and does not play next movie.
If I set:
Skip Credits to Disabled
Auto Play Countdown Time to Immediate
Then I Fast Forward through the credits until there is about 30 seconds of credits left and let the movie finish:
The Next Movie Queues Immediately and begins to play.
So if the The Credits are set to Skip Automatically it does not play the next movie and always goes back to the Playlist Home Screen
I believe this is a bug in their software as it should not do this.
There are not TV episodes and these are only movies.
