"please enable at least one source..." message when trying to search movies library

Server Version#: 1.41.3.9292
iOS Player Version#: 8.43
User: Managed user.

To reproduce the issue, I :

  • select my movies library-
  • select “library” at the bottom.
  • I click on the search icon
  • enter search text, example “lethal weapon”

And I get the below message.

I browsed the mobile app settings and could not find any search-related settings. I repeated the steps in the Web client, and the search results appeared as expected.

I also repeated the steps on another iOS device with Plex v8.43, and the search results appeared as expected.

So it seems to a device specific issue. Perhaps ( guessing here ) the search settings do need to be changed, I just need to expose them and find them.

Update Deleting and reinstalling the mobile app resolved the search issue. I’ll leave this open for a bit in case there was another way (eg search settings ) to solve it.

There should be a settings icon near the search input field, where you can define which media sources are to be searched.
The message from this topic’s title is supposed to appear if all media sources are disabled.

Am I looking in the wrong location? I don’t see any search options. Screenshot below.
