Plex 1.2.1.2854 issue - wrong metadata for movies

Hello!

I just upgraded to Plex 1.2.1.2854 today. Ever since the update, each movie I add to Plex keeps showing up as Madagascar 3. Very odd. I have the movies named per the Plex naming convention and also can find them on Moviedb.org as I have them named.

I have attached my logs.

Thanks,

Brandon

There is something going on with your media itself.

Here is an excerpt from your log. notice in PMS itself that the media is being ‘destroyed’ (when it thinks the media is gone / no longer where it used to be) only to be added again directly below.

what changes did you make? Is the media on a removable USB drive?

No the media is being transcoded via Handbrake from my Bluray and being saved to the NAS in the Plex Library folder. I haven’t had this issue before but I did copy a file out and re-encode a new version of the movie and then it showed up as Madagascar 3. That was Flash Gordon. So then I did Warrior from 2011 and it did the same thing.

I’m having the same issue. When I rip multiple movies using Handbrake to my Synology NAS they all show up as Madagascar 3. One entry multiple versions. I have to split them, then “Fix Match…” them. I thought adding Madagascar 3 to my library would fix the problem but it made it worse. When I add movies I still have to fix them and now Madagascar 3 show as the most currently added and the movie I just added appears in the time line where Madagascar 3 should be…

…Now that I think about it I wonder if it is related to naming and folder structure. Will test and report back…

Folder structure doesn’t matter. This only seems to happen on my Synology NAS, running the native app. The same file works in the cloud and on a windows based server.

This is a 2016 thread. Plex version is 1.12.1.4885 at this point in time.

If you still have this issue, would you please create a new thread.
