I have been using Plex for years and it was rock solid on my Synology S1515+ running DSM 6.1-15047 Update 2. I bought a HDHomeRun Prime and got DVR setup. I am currently running firmware 20170815 on the HDHomeRun Prime.
Since installing the DVR function into Plex, I am having lots of instability. I am seeing the following:
- Not being able to termi* nate Plex from DSM (it requires I reboot the Synology or ssh in to kill the processes)
- Hung recordings that don’t ever look like they finish (they are still in the .grab directory)
- Periodic Plex crashes where all clients cannot contact Plex and it requires a restart of Plex to get back up
- Recording that were truncated around the times of the Plex crashes
Does anyone have a magic combination of firmware and SW that is more stable? Right now this solution doesn’t pass the WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor)!
