Plex agent idiocracy

no words needed. Tried plex dance and every naming scheme I can think of. does not matter. it is only episode 264 that is separated and there is no feature to just include it into another tv show unfortunately.

why?

Details, please!
e.g. file naming / folder organization within the library folder; any conflicting embedded metadata (with your library configured to prefer local data).

there you go. It is only THAT file (episode 264) that is separated. for no apparent reason. I just used the new scanner/agent. not other metadata (local) applied.

That doesn’t look like the official filename spec for TV shows.

/TV Shows/ShowName/Season 02/ShowName – s02e17 – Optional_Info.ext

same result. other seasons have the same naming scheme without a problem.

Did you do a Plex Dance?

Plex can be pretty tolerant of different filenames, but if you don’t follow the rules, your luck eventually runs out.

Maybe the filename is not the root cause here but it is still best practices and can prevent other problems.

Erm… I might b totally off here, but 264 could very well be filtered because people name the video format of their files … like x264 …

Try “Pokemon (yyyy) - S05E264 - Episode Title.extension”

You’re using a strange numbering system. You are using “Season” numbers with “Absolute” episode numbers. Even if you get it to work, Plex is likely not going to pull in metadata for the episodes.

Anyway, have you tried merging the two entries together?

merging did the trick. even plex dance did not help this time. Thanks so much!

No problem. Not sure why Plex was separating out that one episode into another show entirely though.
