Plex Agent not matching for Movies or TV

I deleted the contents of the Codecs folder, restarted PMS, upgraded the libraries to the new scanners. Still getting these flooding the logs:

MetadataAgentPostProcessor: failed to find agent for identifier com.plexapp.agents.themoviedb

MetadataAgentPostProcessor: failed to find agent for identifier tv.plex.agents.movie

Back to the old legacy scanners I go… and hopes that it doesn’t bork the DB.

The upgrade is not complete until you have performed “Refresh Metadata” for the whole library (and let it run to completion).
Until then, some of the items in your lib are still going to be connected to those old agents and will be throwing that kind of errors into the log.

I did that and it was just a WALL of those errors. Hundreds and hundreds of them.

This is a database corruption issue. See above.

I’ve run the database scripts from @ChuckPa multiple times and all come back with no errors at all. I’m not saying there isn’t any corruption to your point, but I can’t find it.

Check you Plex Media Server logs.

Indeed I have. Not a single entry for database corruption.

thanks, this worked for me too :sign_of_the_horns:

Is this also a legacy scanner issue?

“Error parsing HTTP request: ET /:/plugins/com.plexapp.agents.audiobooks/messaging/function”

There is no audiobook support in Plex by default. So this is a custom agent, based on the legacy Python code.

For anyone having issues with the Plex Movie or Plex Series agent not working, please restart your server, wait a couple minutes, then try to refresh/match/fix match some things and grab the server logs and attach them here.

There is no backend issue I’m aware of. Nobody internally has reported any issues and I haven’t seen any issues myself so it could be a regional thing or something specific to an ISP or DNS provider. Logs would help isolate things.

Just doing the server restart fixed it for me it looks like. Will have to see when I add the next new movie what it does.

Tried changing my DNS provider and checking the DB for corruption but neither made any difference.
Clearing out the codecs folder (after making a backup - just in case) did the trick for me.

Thanks to tvguy129

Just tried to add series Ironheart and the log states “unable to find agent match for Ironheart_s01e01 Take me Home.mp4”

I am running server version 4.1460 and Plex tv service for the scanner and Plex Series for the agent

Thank you … this resolved the issue I had where the search field stopped working with the Plex Agent. When the Plex server restarted, it download the necessary codec again and installed them.

This explains it. Plex is blocking VPN’s to further their anti-privacy practices.

What are you talking about?
Please explain your reasoning.
