Server Version#: Synology 1.41.6.9685-d301f511a-aarch64_DSM72
Player Version#: Windows 1.109.0.329-ea562b95
Metadata stopped auto populating after updating server to version 1.41.6.9685-d301f511a-aarch64_DSM72.
Selecting “Fix Match” yielded no search results (completely empty).
Files are named in the Plex format using FileBot and my system had no issues prior to the update (no configuration issues, DNS lookup errors, etc.).
Downgraded the server to version 1.41.5.9522-a96edc606-aarch64_DSM72 and functionality resumed.
“Fix Match” yielded multiple results, the correct option was able to be selected resulting in the correct metadata being applied to the content. No other settings or configurations were changed. I uninstalled the current version of the plex server (selected keep files), then installed the previous version of the plex server (Synology won’t let you downgrade you have to uninstall first) .
There is a bug in Server version 1.41.6.9685-d301f511a-aarch64_DSM72 that is preventing the Plex Agents from functioning.
Can you test this using a different DNS configuration?
The agents seem to be working ok (for myself and including several recent threads). There’s the occasional report of users having trouble, where their DNS fails to resolve the backend URLs used by the agents, resulting in your server receiving no matches.
For me to trouble shoot any further I would have to update to the latest version again. I realize that downgrading is a temporary fix but I would prefer to stay in this stable configuration until the bugs are worked out of the update.
I am using google DNS servers: DNS Server: 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4
I was able to get matches to work by changing my library settings to a legacy agent and then back to the updated Plex agent. But this was a temporary fix that had to be implemented every time new content was added to the library and per the below forum this is likely to corrupt the library and shouldn’t be implemented.
I did not try to start and stop the server but I assume this would also solve the issue (solution provided by Plex employee in below forum). I see this as another temporary fix however. I don’t want to have to restart the sever every time new content is added to ensure proper functionality.
I experienced the same behavior as the below thread, but I didn’t post there because I am not on Linux hardware.
I don’t know what part of upgrading Plex made it unable to match movies. I do know that I learned the new way to set the agent on a library. I switched it from “Plex Movie” to “Plex Movie (Legacy)” and it started matching. I switched it back to “Plex Movie” and it stopped matching. I rebooted my Synology server several times. It was either a combination of one of those reboots, switching the agent, or time that got matching to work again.
During the period of time in which it didn’t work, I downloaded my server logs. Those logs didn’t show anything about the “Fix Match” failures.
