Hi everyone, I know this will have been asked before but can we talk Agents? I am confused about how/where to use them - there are options for them in different places eg: Settings, Library edit, Series edit, Movie edit, and the Match search. The only time I notice having any trouble is when I want to do search for a match by entering a show/movie ID from sources such as TheTVDB, IMDB or TMDb. I never get any results which, I think, is because Plex TV Series is the only option in the “Auto Match” and “Agent” dropdown lists. Can someone please enlighten me? Thanks 
Is there no-one who will help me? I still have no idea how to use the Agents properly, or how to get any results for matches searching by ID.
The Plex TV Series agent will already lookup information from different sources and can be configured to apply episode orderings from both TMDb as well as TVDb – this can be set for the library and overridden for each show (see: 
> Advanced > Episode ordering).
You don’t need to select a different agent to provide Plex with the ID from a particular source.
You can e.g. set the title to tmdb-12346, tvdb-12345 or imdb-tt12345 and search just with that (you might want to drop the year for best results). With IMDb IDs you can usually also ignore the imdb- prefix.
The only trouble I’ve seen with this approach is if a show isn’t listed on TMDB (even if it’s on TVDB).

Thanks tom80H, that cleared things up. I was leaving the prefix off when searching. Don’t know how I missed that. Boy do I feel silly
