Thanks, I haven’t read all the comments yet, I would like to keep my current version and not upgrade, as since this last update the server works smoother and faster so I rather not downgrade to 1.18.0 public. the“/volume1/@appstore/Plex Media Server/lib/dri/iHD_drv_video.so” work around where can I find this on a Synology Nas?
Yes, I keep the latest version too. You have to remove iHD_drv_video.so every time you upgrade. The issue is still in the process of being addressed.
You’ll need to ssh into your NAS to get command line access to remove the iHD_drv_video.so file above. For example see post 32 in the thread I linked to above.
Yes. You may see buffering when transcoding high bit-rate 1080p video. Transcoding 4K video in software will definitely fail.
Deleting the offending driver or falling back to an unaffected version of Plex is the preferred workaround. It forces Plex to use an older, different (but working) driver when hardware acceleration is enabled.
ok thanks I will do the delete of the driver. will check on how to do that. I don’t want to downgrade and I will need the hardware accelerated transcoding on.
