Plex + Android tv not working

Sent Android logs and server logs (Plex on web works fine though)- just android issues

thanks. was also wondering if y’all have tried updating android to 8.18 which was released a couple days ago. looks like at lease some of y’all are still running 8.17.125325

Running the latest update and it still doesn’t work.

I made a new pms on my laptop using my cloud home jus as a library. Then the android app seems to work.

I think the problem is that the pms server software on the my cloud home doesn’t work in combined with the android app.

And the remote control works in your new pms??

@jambo can you please try setting the “allow insecure connections” setting on the Android TV app to “on the local network”.

possibly changing the secure connection setting in network setting of server to disabled. but only do that if the setting above does not work

@BigWheel I’ve had the same issues as others have described above with MyCloudHome and Android TV. Changing the “allow insecure connections” and “on the local network” seemed to fix the issue for me.

So
changing the “allow insecure connections” and “on the local network” didn’t work for me even after clearing cache/deleting data and signing back in but changing the secure connection setting in network setting of server to ‘disabled’ did.

Both Android app and Chromecast work now thanks! But what does that mean now- prefer to have some ‘security’. Can anyone just connect now?

@Chrst1201 you have a bunch of various errors in log. some relating to certificate errors and others that are usually related to DNS issues. if you have not yet please try what I mentioned above Plex + Android tv not working - #30 by BigWheel

I would also maybe change your DNS to something like Google’s or Cloudfare’s in your router

no one can just connect. it is to encrypt the connection so someone who knows how cannot understand the traffic.

DNS can have an effect on this too so it might be a good idea to change your DNS to something like Google’s or Clourfare’s as well

still trying to figure out what is going on though. I asked our QA guys to check connecting to out WDMyCloudHome and they are not having any issues with it so it is hard to figure out why y’all are.
