I started using plex a few months back as a way of watching po- I mean… watching TV shows on my NAS, and it worked on every device I’ve tried it on, but I had to take my 2019 in for servicing, and the newest laptop in the house I have now is this White 2010 MacBook, which I just reinstalled MacOS on, and it has a new battery so I installed the Plex streaming app on it and it looked like it was working fine, until I started playing my p- I mean… videos, and then I noticed that the bottom panel bar thing doesn’t render at all once the video starts playing, I can still use the buttons, but I can’t see them. Annoying. So I go into the settings to try and find maybe an alternative rendering scheme or whatever to see if that would do anything… but there is none! - I accidentally click on one of the dropdowns, and Plex closes, and a few moments later the “Crash report” MacOS dialog comes up. Access violation… I’ve never had one of them say anything other than an access violation for some reason no matter what it was that crashed or why, though. Had a few GL things there so hey I got that part right I think. I go back into Plex, only to find the video is still “queued” down at the bottom, with the bar back like it’s supposed to be, but then Plex crashes after a second or two, probably when the video tries to play again.
I also tried finding slightly old versions of Plex from maybe 2020 to see if that might make a difference, but the newest older version I could find was from 2015 and I doubt that would even connect to the server. I’ll try it though after I post this.
Plex doesn’t like the good stuff today. Any fixes?
Server Version#:1.30.0
