Did it and same thing no change
This worked for three minutes this afternoon and now Iām right back to where I started. No ability to see any of my own content. Plex media server is version 1.19.2.2737
Any ideas on what else this could be
I donāt have a more selection anymore. This is ludicrous
Iām having the exact same issue on 2.18 and run running PMS on macOS Catalina version 1.12.0.4829. It seems my Mac version is out of date but when I check for updates that options is fretted out.
I created a new thread because I didnāt see this one, but will be following here as this is the exact issue Iām having.
Iāll get one TV working and think itās fixed then it just randomly stops working.
Iām having the same issue with the latest Apple TV update. Itās only happening on the one Apple TV that I updated. The other one in the living room still works fine (not updated), as does my iPhone and iPad. All content on the affected TV seems to be missing. Tried rebooting, reinstalling, no fix.
I was able to resolve my issue this morning with an update to PMS running on the Mac, but it wasnāt all that straightforward so Iām including some details in case it helps someone.
When I went to About it showed the current version of PMS to be running 1.19.xxxx. But when I went to update PMS it showed 1.12 on that screen and the check for updates option was greeted out, however the patch notes to the right of that displayed patch notes notes and noted 1.19 at the top. So I was getting two different answers from PMS on what version I was running.
I deleted PMS from the Applications folder on macOS, downloaded the newer 1.19 version from Plex website, and copied it to that same applications folder. When I fired up PMS it took a couple minutes for the server to start but itās up and running now and now all 3 Apple TVs connect fine. I also now see that the check for updates option in PMS is working and inside the settings there are more options than before, further indicating that Iām actually now on a current version of PMS.
Overall a pretty frustrating experience and am disappointed to learn that Plex, a service that I pay for, has no real direct tech support but I got it working and wanted to share in case it helps someone else.
Iām having the exact same issue, running Plex 1.19.3.2764 on my UnRaid server in a docker container, and whatever the current version of the AppleTV app is.
If I want to watch any of my local content I have to go through More and access my server as if itās a remote server. Nothing shows up on my home screen.
The Docker container on UnRaid shows that itās up to date so I canāt run any updates there. AppleTV automatically updates.
I just deleted and re-downloaded the AppleTV app, re-linked, same isuse.
I was able to fix the issue by updating the PMS on my Synology. Seems older PMSās donāt play nice with the new Apple TV updateā¦
Iām running latest available build for Qnap and itās still an issue
My nas is no longer supported. Moved to OSX and itās working fine
I can confirm reinstalling PMS also worked for me. For some reason my PMS was also stuck at a rather old version with no way to update within the app. So I deleted the app and reinstalled fresh from the website. And now it seems to be ok.
Since the Plex Client for Apple TV (4K) updated recently I, too, no longer have direct access to My Media under My Library. Web client still shows it fine, but I can no longer browse My Media content as I used to before this Client update.
Make sure you update the Plex client for Apple TV to 2.18.1 (released just a few hours ago).
That should fix the dependency. Nonetheless you might want to consider updating your Plex Media Server which seems to be out-dated.
In this boat too. Will try the AppleTV update just pushed out, but if that doesnāt work then I may SOL. See, Iām also one of the disappointed Thecus owners who cannot update their PMS due to a known compatibility issue. Means that, eventually, weāll be left behind in versions and things will stop working. Hoping very much that this isnāt that day.
