Server Version#:1.9.6.4429
Player Version#:latest from App Store
This is a strange issue for me. My ATV4K in my bedroom works fine and display the folder content in the sidebar for both users when launched.
The ATV4K in my living room just shows Plex.tv media content and does not show my media folders.
When I select my source the drop down menu shows no content. The only way I can see content is to select my QNAP and then the right pane windows show some content. Such as what was recently released and what was recently added to the library. There is no way to search or browse my library.
This is bugging me as this is my primary tv and depend on this working for when my kids get TV time and want to watch a movie or something.
Has anyone else seen this? Is there a way to clear out all Plex settings from an appletv without fully factory restoring it?
I am at the point now where this looks like my next troubleshooting step as I have no idea why this is being problematic.
Also, my server shows up fine on my windows pc, on my iMac, on my iPhone and one of my ATV’s its isolated to just this one which is leading me to believe its a glitch within the ATV and Plex install.
I also completely removed the app, rebooted, powered off completely, reinstalled and its the same thing. I will not find my folder content of my local server.
I’m not quite sure I get the issue?!
Plex is not showing the libraries from your Plex Media Server in the navigation bar of that Apple TV 4K?
Are those libraries available through the “More” section? If so… you probably need to pin which libraries you want to see – if it’s all gone crazy you might want to reset the customizations on the home screen of the Apple TV Plex app.
Also… if your server is still on 1.9.6.4429 you might want to consider updating the server at some point – that’s version has been publicly released in November 2017…
That’s is the issue. My Qnap media folders which work on all my other devices are not working with this one ATV.
I tried the customizations and my content folders are not there to pin.
My Qnap server shows in the list but the down allow shows no content.
As for the version, this is the latest version available for intel snap qts servers from the site. I just grabbed the latest version and the build is dated 5/12/2020 I believe.
Any error messages or any kind of message/notification/label when you click on the QNAP (which I suppose is your PMS)?
You said the libraries of “QNAP” are showing up fine in your other clients?
Is that Apple TV in the same network as your PMS (e.g. not running in its own subnet – e.g. the PMS is in 192.168.1.xxx while the Apple TV is in 192.168.2.xxx) or in any other way separated?
This Apple TV has been working fine since I hooked it up in December. It’s only the past couple days where this has started happening.
All devices are on the same network and the same subnet. They are on separate switches but this has worked fine in the past.
The problematic ATV is on the wire too where the working one upstairs is on wifi network (both connected to same base station access point) which is an AirPort Extreme AC.
I don’t understand why this is happening.
I also can connect to the pms over the Internet with my iPhone via my cellular provider.
I’m a tech guy by trade and would not have asked if I hadn’t already exhausted all my troubleshooting I can think of…
I think I have the exact same issue. Source content appears on iPhone App. But no dice on Apple TV. All the media sources do not appear at the top level and also do not show up when drilling into the different media servers. So they cannot be pinned.
Yes I have tried everything on the ATV and the server.
I reinstalled the app, did a reset of the ATV, removed and re added all my sources.
I have tried everything I can think of and nothing is working.
I can’t help notice that this all started after the app updated so I would assume it’s the plex app for ATV that is doing this and I would assume that more and more peeps with atv’s will start experiencing this too.
Having the same exact problem here on ATV after the update a few days ago. Works fine on my Ipad, Iphone, tivo plex client and sony plex clients. Must be a bug with ATV.
I am having the exact same issue. Started when I began using 2.18 on my Apple TV 4K a few days ago. I can’t view my library in order to pin my content. All my other devices are fine, but they are running previous versions of plex. I’ve tried everything I know to do to fix it, no luck. I agree with the others it seem like a bug.
I turned on the Enable Log Download in Settings, then attempting to recreate, I deleted the app, reinstalled the app, linked it to plex (sign-in), and now it’s all there! Yay!!!
