Plex app for LG tv shows "Network unavailable" after the last update

Just a question here, why are you adding a /24 at the end of the IP address?

Your answer,
CIDR Notation.
/ 24 indicates a subnet mask of 255.255. 255.0, or in binary octets. A Subnet mask is a 32-bit number that masks an IP address , and divides the IP address into network address and host address

Gracias!

Thanks, not that i understand this but i added it.
I am still getting the same issue though.

Did you find a solution?

Did you sort the issue?

I followed what SE56 advised and it worked for me, although I had to do it again about a week ago as the setting had reversed back. Maybe due to another update ??

Its very frustrating to make the changes on the plex app settings on the TV. When navigating through the settings menu its like press the key count to 60 between each press until you get to where you want to be. But once I’d changed - Always fall back to insecure for Local connections to ALWAYS it worked for me.

Nope. Still just having to close the app and open it back up. Or clicking retry. Sometimes it will load, sometimes I just give up and watch prime.

I’ve never had any slowness problems like others have mentioned, I just get the error 337. If it does connect up its fast.

I have the exact same issue. Does Not load at first and gives me the 337 error. Have to exit plex, remove it from recently played, open it again and it works. Retry doesn’t work most of the time. Everybody seems to have different requirements for this setup. Some say you need to add the media server ip address/24 in the authentication section, some say plex on LG should have the manual server entered others say manual servers don’t work… is there an official settings description from a plex employee for LG TV running latest webos. More of a general question to everyone, including plex employees!

Same issues for me following last update on Synology (about 3 days ago). Does Plex test these updates? Does Plex offer any actual support. No issues before upgrade. After upgrade, Plex on Apple TV won’t connect to the server. It working for a short period on the Samsung Smart TV but tonight wouldn’t connect. Couldn’t even open Plex from inside Synology. Stopped Plex from running in Synnology. Restarted. Now it’s connecting on the Samsung TV. If you try to fast forward or rewind in a movie, you get a message that Plex long the connection to that source. Start the movie from the beginning and no problem.

Come on Plex! can’t you sort out your app please? I’ve been battling with this error -337 on LG TV with Webos for months. People say you can change this and that in network setting etc but really that makes no difference to the end result. This problem only occurs on my LG TV and is fine in Roku and mobile devices. Is there any feed back from Plex Support as to a permanent solution?

I too am having the same issue on my LG OLED77C8PUA. I get the will not connect after the PLEX image waits and waits on the LGOLED65C9PUA. I did the uninstall, and install Plex app on LG. Turned the TV off and back on but still cannot access. I have no clue what to do to use the LG app for Plex. I can access Plex on the TV only by using Chromecast. The Plex app works just fine on my iPad and Android cell.

Same here. Have tried wired, wireless, insecure fall-back, insecure allowed, port forwarding, alllowing unauthorized access from devices on local network, static IPs, all the suggestions in this forum and on reddit, and who knows where else over the past few months, in many different combinations. Got the TV (OLED 65c9) in December (2019), Plex worked fine on initial install and for some days to weeks afterwards. Then at some point an update tanked it, and it has never worked consistently since, on the TV only.
Tried XPLAY a couple months back, it worked first try easily, and has worked reliably every time.

I turned off IPv6 in my Plex network settings and set “secure connections” to “preferred”.
in the LG TV network settings in Ethernet I turned off IPv6. (I dont try IT on WIFI)

that’s it, Plex on tv started without problem. I wonder if the problem will repeat itself.

Glad some people are still listening

Ya, I’ve had IPv6 off for a while (wired connection). Just unistalled/re-installed app on tv. Still no good.
This is a Plex app specific issue (all other streaming apps on the tv connect immediately and work with no issues), c’mon Plex, do something!

I wonder why such a problem occurred on the same TV with the same software. In general, I have two more modems connected to the main Router due to the need to distribute the network more throughout the large house with WIFI, but the TVs are wired. For example, in my mother’s living room on the same LG TV model (but a few inches smaller), the problem does not occur. You do not need to turn off IPv6 in TV settings. this only occurs on one receiver. Everything else works great, phones, tablets, computers …

unfortunately my treatments turned out to be unsuccessful. The problem “337” occurs again…

Tried this, no dice, still getting Error Code 337 on my LG TV. Great to see the Plex staff are so enthusiastic about helping out on this forum /s. Glad I didn’t shell out for the Lifetime Pass now.
