I too get this. It’s not consistent, but definitely caused by using the forward/ rewind.

Has always done this for all versions of the os / app since I bought it a year ago.
This too is driving me nuts. I was hoping the new update would solve this but no, 1.18.1.1973 still has the same issue.
It appears to be with transcoding, especially when resuming playback. E.g. I can play a file for 45 minutes with no issues. If I come back to it and resume playback it will stutter every second or so. Then, starting again from the beginning the stuttering starts from about 1 minute in to the stream. It seems to “infect” the file permanently on a per-user basis.
This seems to be just LG related so far but has definitely cocked up recently with a PMS update.
I’ve reverted back to 1.16.0.1226 as recommend and will try it later. However, if this solves the issue, when do we start introducing the updates again? No one official seems to be bothered about acknowledging any issues, forcing me to ignore minor issues and therefore not reporting them. Unfortunately, this isn’t something I can ignore. I’ve had to use DLNA - it’s ancient but it works.
I have my friend with a LG Plex app having lots of buffering - how and where do you set the video quality on the LG app? I can’t seem to get him to find it.
If the issue is related PMS/LG app (this thread) then just roll back a couple of versions and you’ll be fine.
Confirmed, rolled back to 1.16.0.1226 and everything is now working perfectly with the transcoder.
Hopefully this can be resolved soon. It’s frustrating, but I do not want to roll back due to the changes to the music library. Is the dev team aware of the issues at least?
Hey can you help me please. I’ve got a new LG TV and my Plex keeps on buffering. My tv is connected via WIFI and has a speed of 1gb a second. I will appreciate it so much. I have limitless resources so I’ll appreciate a very basic solution please. Thank you so much!
What’s your Plex Server version?

The Plex Server needs to be rolled back to version 16, irritating but it works. So unless you control the server you connect to or personally know the person the resolution is likely not within your ability.
MattCartlidge stated above that it still has the same issue.
Latest Plex Pass update does not fix this issue. It’s a fairly major problem, and it’s been quite some time. Even more worrying, not a single dev/staff member has responded or acknowledged this issue. It’s an issue with PMS, so maybe we need to let the mods in that section know?
Just wanted to add that I’ve got the same problems for a few weeks now. (LG 55B6, PMS stable and beta releases)
I’ve also had the same issue for a few weeks on a UH770T. Thankfully found this thread last night and a rollback to version 16 has fixed things.
