Hello,
I have 6 premium lifetime accounts. I am trying to install PLEX on the new device that I have, problem is that the app is not visible on the store.
Just to add, I’ve had the same problem with another app (Philips Hue TV Box) and after I contacted the developers they enabled this device and now it is visible and I can install it and use it.
My android TV box has Broadcom BCM7268 chipset
Can I get some help please because I have spent a lot of money on theese accounts and I would like to have them working on this device?
in my 1st post you will see, I had this already solved with another app, they showed me what is possible devices they could enable, 3 of them were very similar
KSTB6044
KSTB5023
Broadcom BCM7268 (it is the same chipset as my device)
Together we found those 3, then developer of the app did sometning and as a result - app is visible on the store and it is working perfectly…
I am unable to find your device in the Google Play Store from the model you have listed.
Make sure your running the latest software update available for your device. Could you screenshot your device’s information page, it should list software version for the device and the model numbers.
As I said before, for some reason (I dont know why) this device is not listed, I have foud similar devices and other developer enabled it and that did the trick.
Here you can see alternatives, my device looks exactly the same as one on the picture KSTB 6044
If it’s not listed then that usually means the device hasn’t been approved by Google. The KSTB6044 you have listed is a supported device by the Plex for Android app. But the model number you are running does not seem to appear in the Google Play Console at all.
I’m not sure what other app devs have done to enable this for you?
Since you are a Plex Pass user, you can side load the app on to your device (the APK links are in the release notes) whilst we figure out why it’s not on the store for you.
Is it too much to ask that we try to enable this box with Broadcom chipset, because this box have exact chipset…I am guessing that Pixela is the same as KSTB6044
I am asking because I have 6 premium accounts on devices that are in 1000km radius, it is very complicated for me to get to all of them and sideload app
One more thing, I just learned that some developers of the apps require WIFI on the device…
Just so you know, this device have only ethernet (wired) internet connection, no WIFI…
Hello, Zouz has a point, KSTB6020 is now visible on the Google Play Console. What is the procedure now to make Plex visible on Play Store for this device?
hi All,
I am also a Plex Premium Member, and I have also find that selected box is Google Certificated, https://sites.google.com/view/droid-tv/pay-tv-provider/europe-middle-east-africa , so I am very disappointed that I can’t find Plex on Google Store from my device. I am wondering, is there anything that can be done, to solve this issue?
Same here, just got this device from my cable operator, and can’t find Plex in app store. In browser it says that it isn’t compatible (kaonmedia kstb6020). As this device is going to replace thousands of old stb devices of that provider, please enable plex so we don’t have to resort to various sketchy sites to use it…
It was very big event and boxes are going like crazy… In last few days they sold more than 1000 pieces. Pixxel has a point, we paid for plex licence, why do we need to install it from usb or something like that. I understand that earlier that was not possible but now
I dont see the problem anymore.
Hey hey, just wanted to add myself to list of sad KaonMedia STB 6020 users
Although I’m not premium user, I have been long time plex user. And to be honest Plex was only reason for getting this stupid smart box from operator. is there any way to at least instal it manually
So yeah I have the same exact Issue with this box. It shows up all other streaming apps even Kodi. But no Plex. This box has just launched for a major cable operator in Europe and will replace a 100s of thousand stbs in 4 countries. Can we get an update, as I would really hate to switch to Kodi.
You did realise, that your site is NOT an official site? A lot of boxes are around with Android TV or Anroid mobile scaled onto a TV, which are not officially certified by google?
The certified devices you find here: Android TV
The list ist not long…
I am sorry but you are completely wrong here.
This website may not be official, but all the info presented is 100% about Certified Android TV boxes and not cheap Chinese box like you may think. Every box in this website has Chromecast built-in, the Android TV Play Store, etc.
The official Google website is never updated and only shows a few example, mostly streaming devices and no Pay TV operator Android TV set-top box.
