I am trying to follow the setup guide here: Getting Started with Plex Arcade | Plex Support
and Naming and organizing Game files and Cores | Plex Support
I am having issues with the getting the cores set up.
What I can gather RetroArch is where I need to download the cores, but once you go to Core Downoader, it seems to be various options for each platform, I have no clue which one to download, so I just downloaded random cores for GBA, GBA Advance, and Nintendo 64.
Although the article mentions that the XML file would be generated automatically when you open a game, I had no luck with any XML file creation.
So I made my own XML File here:
<?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>I am not sure if this is correct, but I mapped the platform with the core file and then saved it.
I am still getting the core issues when opening games that I downloaded.
Part 2, when I try to open any of the original games that Plex gives you, I am getting the following error: Parsec client error (100): Error with Parsec client ParsecStatus (raw:100).
I installed the client and scanned for my pc and it sees it.
Other than this, I have no idea what to do to make this work.
P.S I feel that Plex should have had much more detailed guides for setting this up.
The default games are not working out of the box even with the API auth for Parsec.
What I thought would be a very easy setup, has ended up causing me so much frustration and confusion to make any game actually play and load. I suggest that Plex has a way more in depth guide to help new users get started.
Sorry for the mood, I am just so excited to release this to my users, and now I am delayed because the setup is very complicated.
