Games launch but there is no video. Sometimes sound. Every time I launch one my Plex video server locks up and I have to quit it and restart. This product seems less than half baked. Is it working for anyone?!
generally that implies your video card isn’t compatible with Parsec.
Intel i5, listed as compatible
My system has all the requirements but still has issues with some emulators/roms. Might be useful if we knew exactly how the whole Arcade thing works in terms of a flow diagram as without that knowledge it makes it difficult to know where things might be going wrong. I know it uses Parsec for instance but parsec login shows no information relating to my games, server or gameplay.
Just to add to this, i have no picture on any emulators when using my FireTV Stick 4K. Works fine for all except N64 emulator on android phone
Also now android version roms are failing to run. This really is an alpha product and shouldnt have been advertised as anything else but an alpha
I just setup Arcade today with some Genesis and SNES roms with known working cores and in 1 of the four games I tested I got sound but no video while the rest were just black screen and no sound. In the one that had sound I could use the onscreen buttons and they seemed to work. I have Plex running on a Windows 10 with a RTX 2070 card and this happened on that specific PC and on my Pixel 5 phone.
I tried another ROM for both systems and in both cases every game just showed a black screen and no sound.
I have all different hardware but the exact same results. Pelt replied to me that I must have an unsupported gpu. I told them that video car is specifically on the list of what’s supported but the never replied back to me after that. I canceled my trial and uninstalled my games. Plex isn’t interested in supporting Arcade or fixing it. Pretty disappointing considering how much I spend with them.
How much do you spend with them? I’m pretty sure its next to nothing as its only the cost of a plex pass which really isnt a lot.
Which cores are you trying? I had this problem with some Genesis and SNES roms on Windows.
For ref: On Win 10 try the Picodrive core for Genesis and Snes9x core Snes
I think that Picodrive is the one I was referring to that got me sound in 1 game (Altered Beast) but not the other Genesis. That SNES core didn’t work for me (black screen no sound) at all in 10+ games I tried it on. I thought it was something with my machine but I got the N64 core and that worked for most games…but not all. Here is the list of cores I’ve tried with no success.
mesen-s_libretro.dll
picodrive_libretro.dll
snes9x_libretro.dll
fceumm_libretro.dll
genesis_plus_gx_libretro.dll
Ok, I have tried every SNES ROM compatible with windows and 20 or so different SNES games, and none of them load beyond a black screen. I don’t even get sound as I do on 1 Genesis title. Most N64 ROMs work, except all of the Legend of Zeldas, though, so I have no idea where to go from here…can I get my trial time back?
Turns out 99.9% of the problem was that it didn’t dawn on me that this needed the zip files extracted ! Realizing this I made a separate folder just for Plex ROMs with the zips extracted and so far GBA, N64, NES, SNES, and Genesis all work! Unfortunately, I have to have dups as my other way of playing my games on other devices prefers them inside the zip files.
So this is for anyone else having a seemingly unsolvable black screen issue.
thanks for sharing, glad you got it figured out.
I’m also getting a black screen. Windows 10, Chrome, NVIDIA GTX 970M. Have tried two different common game cores; both NES and Genesis outputting audio but no video.
Is there a plan to relaunch arcade with more detailed support and documentation and maybe a second trial period?
