Plex Arcade?

It doesn’t have to. Just like movies, it’s just a recommendation.

Thanks for the reply.

For some reason, it is not seeing my Genesis roms. I added that folder separate from the default games folder, so it’s not something like that.

The first time you play one of the included games, PMS needs to download something. This may take a little bit of time. Wait a few minutes and try again.

Same problem here, and I don’t see any Atari games that should come pre-loaded (yes, I checked the option when creating a library).

Guess I’ll wait until these start-up problems have been ironed out.

Can you give a hard list of all systems we can currently add games for? I don’t want to start a trial if I can’t add stuff like PS1 games yet.

its in the FAQ. https://support.plex.tv/articles/plex-arcade-faq/

  • Arcade
  • Atari (2600, 5200, 7800)
  • Sega (Genesis, Game Gear, Master System, 32X)
  • Nintendo (NES, Super NES, N64, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance)

The core mapping file is missing a core for Game Boy Advance.

Error code: 8003 (Game Setup)

Halp.

I added my SNES folder and it sees those fine. Interesting…

Would be cool if the metadata could include screenshots and/or video.

got the same problem.

Look at the bottom on adding cores. Did you edit the XML file as mentioned?

I got Game Boy Advance and Game Boy games to work but not Game Boy Color. Anyone have any tips?

The day this comes to console (Xbox or PS through Plex, If thats even possible), Ill sub & Im sure a few of my shared users would too. Im perfectly fine with Retroarch on PC & Mobile myself, But some of my users Im sure would have a bit of a nightmare setting Retroarch up on PC & Mobile without any hiccups. Having this on console through Plex & Roms managed by me, Setup to be click & play just like the media is on Plex, Would be awesome for users that have trouble using OG emulators on PC & Mobile.

They don’t work or they don’t show up?

I’ve never used Retroarch before. Do I need to get the cores from there? I don’t know if I can just grab a dll out of my snex9s folder? For example, Kega Fusion does not have any dll file in the install folder.

So, I assume I need specific cores from somehwere?

would be nice to know that this didnt support Linux before I went through the free trial sign up, that I’ve now wasted and have to cancel.

I installed Retroarch on my plex machine and downloaded a snes core and put it in the cores folder and updated my xml to this:

<Mappings>
</Mappings
	platform="Super Nintendo Entertainment System"
	core="snes9x_libretro.dll"
/>

Now I get a different error:

The core mapping file is missing or invalid.

Error code: 8011 (Game Setup)

Wasn’t showing up but I think I think the one ROM file is corrupt, I just tried another GBC ROM and it did show up

Is that the entire file? It’s wrong. See the example at the bottom of https://support.plex.tv/articles/naming-and-organizing-game-files-and-cores/.

Thanks, I updated it to this:

<?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>
<Mappings>
</Mapping
	platform="Super Nintendo Entertainment System"
	core="snes9x_libretro.dll"
/>
</Mappings>

Getting the same error, though. Do I need to reboot or something?

No. That is reloaded as needed. And that XML file is in the plug-ins support folder?
