Have you considered they might have switched to âoriginal qualityâ settings in their client and the required bitrate might actually exceed your internet upload speed (or potentially a bandwidth limit set in Settings > Server > Remote Access > Limit remote stream bitrate)?
Before jumping versions you might at least double-check if that could be the cause of this issue
Two apple TVS and one iPhone in three locations all same error on infuse app which was last updated end of march. Plex app on same apple TVs plays ok though.
The client apps donât have any changes made.
Only change made was updating plex media sever on the NAS and only seems to prevent remote access device on LAN still play on Plex and Infuse
ok⊠could trigger a playback of (ideally) the same movie from that Apple TV â once from Infuse and once from the Plex for tvOS client. Afterwards please download the logs from your Plex Media Server and upload them here.
You can download your server logs from Settings > Server > Manage > Troubleshooting > Download Logs
So after downgrading and it working fine, I thought Iâd try upgrading to the newer version 1.19.1.2701 but getting the same issue when removing playing off LAN âBandwidth limit Exceededâ
Have attached logs not sure if these are the ones you wanted?Plex Media Server.log (494.3 KB)
The logs show that Plex thinks thereâs a limit set to 2000 kbpsâŠ
Can you please provide the values from the following settings on your Plex Media Server (either as a screenshot or by copying/typing them):
Settings > Server > Remote Access
Internet upload speed (I suppose this is still set to 150 Mbps?)
Yes nothing to do with transcoding as they always play in direct mode.
I just downgrade to an older version and each time a new version comes out I test it, awaiting a proper fix from Plex.
Just very strange plays fine on lan but no over internet connections. And the fact the previous chap said my Plex seems to be limiting to 2000kb for some reason. when using newer plex versions.
Your logs appear to indicate that the connection is happening over the relay connection, which is limited to 2000Kbps.
Ensure that your server is fully accessible by the remote user, if you want to you can disable the relay option in Settings -> Network and uncheck âEnable Relayâ, this way the user just wonât be able to connect at all if there is a problem between their device and your server.
Correct it never has worked because my provider uses no static ip addresses
You donât need a static IP to enable remote access, is your issue maybe not double NAT?
But regardless of that. Remote access does work with Infuse until the last 3 server updates installed.
It would have always been using the relay then, so best you re-enable that. Does remote access work with the official Plex apps? If this is specific to Infuse then this should probably be reported to them too.
I cannot get Plex to say remote access with stability - yes due tot eh NAT issue with my provider Hyperoptic.
Remote access has always worked until server upgraded for last 3 or 4 versions.
I turned off the relay and Infuse does still work remotely when on old version but NOT the last 3 sever software updates.
Plex app dose show server online but due to the remote issue and generally not coping with direct play with files over 5gb in size Iâve never used Plex apps (No offence but Infuse just handles larger files much better) as they are always stuttery
Ideally whatever change was made to the server software if that could be fixed as it still works on older software that would be ideal.
If you donât have remote access or enable relay then this shouldnât be possible. Those are the only two ways Plex allows remote access.
There were some fixes made recently to the server so that we provide the correct information to client applications about available bandwidth when using relay. It sounds like Infuse may need to fix this on their end.
