Plex breaks after opening firewall ports

So I’ve got a fun one for you! I just recently switched to a new router. I’ve got many servers and desktops that I’ve swapped over without an issue including the Plex Media server (Ubuntu 20.04). Plex has been working great these past 24 hours after the change however, I noticed that I forgot to created a rule to open port 32400 on the firewall as the web interface mentions having “indirect” access. I added the rule to the router and then BIG PROBLEM, my Plex libraries are no longer available either locally or remotely. I can access the local web interface however all the server settings mention “Server Settings not available”. Since I have Plex running as a VM (via Proxmox), I have restored from backup many times and Plex will work great internally/externally until I enable the firewall rule again. I’ve confirmed the port is open externally but each time Plex connects “home”, something causes it to break. I’m almost certain the IP address changed from the old router to the new one but I can’t remember the IP address of the Plex server prior to the router change.

What do you guys think? How can I open this port without breaking Plex?
