Plex cannot tune all channels, but the hdhomerun app can do

Tuner Make/Model: HDHR3-4DC (firmware 20221031)

Hi all,
after new installation plex find all channels from hdhomerun, but cannot tune some channels. The Hdhomerun app has no problems. Is this issue known? There was no change after restart server or hdhomerun and delete dvr or a new channel on plex.

Update more information: i life in germany - it’s cable TV (dvb-c) and it worked on all channels until the new installation (new clean installation of qnap nas)

the first 3 lines are from hdhomerun app - it works - i closed the channel - the next three lines are from plex tuning with the error “could not tune channel. Please check…”

the error concerns only a few channels - the rest is working

UPDATE 22/12/15: New versions 1.30.x public or plex pass have still the same problem above.

UPDATE 23/01/15: Version 1.30.1.6562 Until yet there is no solution for currently new versions after 1.29.2.

UPDATE 23/02/09: Version 1.31.0.6654 has always the same problem. It is now after the long time very frustrating.

Solution until yet, is to keep the public version 1.29.2. Can someone tell me in future, if the problem is solved?

Zip code or city and which listing are you using?

Plex doesn’t tune anything flagged with drm.

Uninstall 1.30 and drop back to the public 1.29.2 version.

UPDATE 22/12/15: New versions 1.30.x public or plex pass have still the same problem above. So i have to keep 1.29.2.

Hi Tiebierius, have you some information if the problem is in progress by the programmers at Plex-Team?

I tried yesterday the last public version 1.30.1.6562, but the problem is still there.

Only what I have read here in the forums that Plex is working on updating the Transcoder which has broken a few things. The latest beta does fix thumbnails and intro detection but no mention of fixing the secondary audio or taking too long to tune a channel.

Update 20230222: I’ve solved my problem temporary handling the long tune channels with xteve + buffering vlc (buffer 1 MB) in the middle between HDHomeRun and Plex. So far it works steady.

Has anyone capabilities to create a docker image with xteve and vlc for thae purpose? I got it only running on VM Windows. In the available dockers the vlc was not working with the output ts stream from HDHomeRun.
