Used Plex on my LG TV via the Plex app and WD My Cloud for years without any issues.
Following the password reset Email it no longer works.
I have Plex Media Server enabled in My Cloud Home and Configure opens the Plex app on my phone. However the phone says ‘app.plex.tv is unable to connect to My Cloud Home securely’ and on the TV it says ‘Add content to library’s
I don’t see any way to alter security settings in My Cloud Home.
Go into your server and click on Plex Media Server under installed apps. Starting a few months ago, the “Run App” button now defaults to OFF after an update. Toggle it back on and everything should start working again. This is the most likely answer that’s been giving everyone problems lately. It should look something like this.
I have exactly the same issue. Logged out of all devices as instructed on email by Plex, but now Plex won’t recognise my MyCloud Home and won’t let me re-add it.
I logged a help ticket with WD and they sent me a list of instructions to be able to send them some log files - which I haven’t been able to make work yet.
In parallel, I tried to log in on my laptop to My Cloud Live (rather than my phone) and then Activate and Configure and once I PLEX opened it prompted me to download an additional app (apologies, I’ve forgotten the name, but it was automated) and that seems to have worked (despite the fact the laptop doesn’t need to be switched on!?).
I’ve also just got it to work again, in a similar fashion to yourself.
I installed the Plex App for Windows onto my laptop and for whatever reason when I logged into that it detected the MyCloud Home straight away! I just had to re-load my media library in which took a while but all sorted now. What a relief
