I have an HD HomeRun Prime with a cable card. I perform a channel scan on the Hd HomeRun and it correctly finds all the channels, however, the guide info that Plex is using is not all correct. Most channels are fine, but there are some that do not have a proper channel mapping option, or the name is incorrect. I have taken screen shots of the channel lineup on my HD HomeRun, and screen shots of what plex is finding. Let me know what i need to provide to help get this resolved. I know that @sa2000 helped me with an issues like this one other time. I am guessing this is an issue with the channel information provider that Plex uses.
It’s been 11 days since I posted this. But it is still an issue. Because the guide data is wrong, there are channels that I cannot add into my lineup because Plex is unable to find the info for that channel. There are also some channels with the incorrect info.
@sa2000 was able to help with something like this before.
To follow it up, i need web page link to the list of channels from the provider for your zip code. Sometimes providers block web pages when viewed in other countries, if this happens then i need actual link to a pdf and the pdf (zipped) or screenshots of channels t
I would need to know which channels are missing or wrong - you can give me a few examples of important channels and then I will refer with the rest of the info to Gracenote
Hello, sorry for the delay. Unfortunately we have been pounded by last minute winter storms, which has caused me to travel around for work assessing damage.
Attached is the PDF channel guide from the local cable provider for the zip code proved in the previous message. Specifically channel 604, which references the wrong channel call letters. Plex will not allow me to pick a channel mapping for it. In the zipped folder, i also put screen shots of the guide that Plex downloading. All of the little white (non checked) boxes, are channels that i cannot pick the proper mapping for. I work in the TV industry for 90% of ND, and am very familiar with the channels and call letters. Please let me know if Gracenote has any other questions.
I also have a server that is dedicated to OTA channels. Every other day, channel 5.1 & 5.2 display “Unknown Airing” for the entire day, in the channel guide. Because of this, I cannot record anything on those channels during the days that the guide says this. Zip code is also the same as above.
I have referred this to Gracenote and attached your Midco channels pdf
The lineup links 604 to KQCDDT2 - Fox Entertainment)
I have asked them to look into this as the provide pdf you attached shows 604 to be KNDX - FOX HD
For the OTA case, I have setup a DVR with your zip code and selected “Local Broadcast Listings” lineup and channels 5.1 and 5.2
I cannot see unknown errors
Can you please referesh the guide through DVR settings and on completion check on plex web through https://app.plex.tv/desktop
If the problem persists, please get me screenshots showing dates and times and also zipped copy of the EPG database - it should be in the application data area within directory Plug-in Support\Databases and the filenames will start with tv.plex.providers.epg.cloud-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Zip the files and send to me together with the screenshots
If i do not find any anomaly in the db - i may need debug server logs as well covering period for the epg refresh and then later when the unknown airings show up
It seems as though the guide is not displaying the “Unknown Airing” thing anymore, however, the recordings are still not happening. From the “DVR Schedule” menu, the is the indicator that the recordings are in progress, and once the show is over, the window shows “Recorded Successfully”, but there is no play button, and the show never actually records. (See attached Picture) I have some plex servers setup at my work and those seem to be doing the same things as well. (I am a TV engineer, so i record all of our news casts using 4 Plex servers) The logs and pictures attached are from my personal server at home. Which is running the latest version of Plex server.
I had a response from Gracenote concerning Midco and Fox for your area
KNDXLD was the FOX affiliate and our records indicate it went off the air on 5/4/2020
Our database is showing the FOX affiliate in the Minot-Bsmrck-Dcknsn (Wlstn) market as KFYRDT2 as are KMOTDT2 , KUMVDT2 , KQCDDT2
Please could you look into this and let me know if there is definitely an error and if you can back that with up to date information (screenshots / pdfs / web links) confirming what they are broadcasting on 604
Is it possible to manually enter the channel number so that I am able to at least watch and record the proper channel since the guide still hasn’t been fixed? Otherwise I can’t stream the correct channel. Thanks for the help
You can record a channel - but it will be named as per the EPG and the airings will be those for the channel in the EPG but recording of course will be of what is actually streaming through the tuner
Gracenote have responded to say that the fix is being made for the channel
