Plex choppy on external 4k monitor.....why?

Hi, I got a new 4k LG 43UN700 monitor. Plugged it in with HDMI and have computer set to extended desktop.

When I play plex using the Plex Client for windows 10, it is slightly choppy. If I drag the plex window to my main laptop screen without pause/playing, it immediately becomes smooth.

I can direct play the same file with VLC the large monitor with no issues.

Any ideas on why this is happening with PLEX and how to troubleshoot?

I also have a 32" monitor which I usually used, I have never experienced this.
