Server Version#: 1.19.5.3112
Player Version#: 1.15.1.1358-43550df5
I switched from Videotron to Bell Fibe - nothing else has changed - all computers and TVs restarted many times on both sides
I can see my library and all the files but nothing will play when I am remote - even though remote access is checked and enabled - I even did DMZ and manual port forwarding on 32400, and I can see myself on canyouseeme.org - I also do not have double NAT.
Why will the videos no longer play remotely? Can this be fixed?
Would you mind sharing some more details on your setup and “symptoms”?
Do I read this correctly that you can access your library while outside your home network, you can navigate to a movie/show but when you click on Play … you get some error message?!
Could you share the specific error message?
Does the issue persist if you go with a different port?
Your description is precisely right. There is no error message it keeps trying to play and the little circle turns but the selected movie never plays.
I have not tried a different port but I will - pretty sure it will make no difference though.
While the loading circle keeps spinning…
Can you open a separate browser window and open Plex Web (e.g. http://app.plex.tv/desktop) to check out the information from the “Now Playing” part of the server dashboard?
This will show some technical information about its (failing) playback attempt that can give us some indication on how to proceed (before digging into logs).

The now playing shows exactly what your screenshot shows - direct play and on the server it shows it’s playing but the circle keeps spinning on the remote location and no video plays.
So you switched ISP?? if that was the only change I would get into your server from your LAN, goto Account and Sign Out. Then Sign On again. If that doesn’t work, try reducing your remote stream quality in the settings.
yes that is all I did I changed ISP only
will try that now back in a minute with result
Well logging off and back on did not work - plus I believe I had tried that several times before.
Fixed! The most bizarre of reasons why this was happening. For the answer see https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/aquantia-aqtion-10gbit-network-adapter-windows-10-issues.2233036/
But basically disabling both Recv Segment Coalescing for IPv4 and IPv6 in advanced properties for my network adapter fixed the issue.
:mindblown:
