Plex crashing on startup on nvidia shield with latest update

I started up plex today and it popped up the new feature, I thought I disabled it, but when I went to the main screen it just crashes (i.e. on restart every time immediately). I deleted all data and it would require me to login again (still crashes). deleted all data again and “guest mode” “works”, but isn’t what I need.

I got upgraded to 9.0.1.31729. I see that 9.0.2 is out. did I get provisioned for new features that are incompatible with 9.0.1.31729 and until the upgrade to 9.0.2 is rolled out to me I will be unable to use plex? (i can’t seem to get adb to authenticate over the network, so am unable to manually update)

I also have this issue. Have deleted app data and rebooted but after login app crashes again

forced an upgrade to 9.0.2.31766 via play store and it didn’t make a difference. still crashing.

Same problem. Is there any ways to install previous stable version (I already disable automatic updates in Google Play)?

though, I still seem to get the same error without vpn if I try to configure the streaming services, but that’s ok, as it doesn’t crash the app, as it was the initial setup screen that was causing the crash.
