Plex defaults don’t serve the users

I am extremely patient.
I must be.
I’ve been with plex since March 2017…
That’s 72 months of changing my 10 categories from “recommended”to “Library” every time the app updates or I blink.
Just spent the last ten minutes doing it again.
I suppose I need to apologise for wanting to use this app in a way that works for me :face_with_raised_eyebrow::roll_eyes:

Do you have this selected?

I’m with you, but Plex doesn’t care it that easy. I unchecked everything under recommended, and now mine goes to a blank page every other second. Plex loves their money intake. I’m close to switching to another.

This option doesn’t change anything. It still goes into recommended every other times you go into it. It check on mine and boom recommended time.

Just curious, Are you talking about library recommendations ? Basically this stuff ?

Its under server settings - manage - libraries and then expand the library. If you have not tried this already I’d suggest hitting the reset customisation and the organise them how you want them.

That should (at least it does for me) keep the recommendation consistent across all my clients I’m logged into.

What clients do you have this trouble with?

I can’t think of why it would be so unreliable unless you’re using Plex Web and it has something to do with your cookie or browser settings

I mainly use an apple TV and Iphone; so use the associated plex apps that they provide.

So… :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:… When I penned this first; I was on a bit of a rant and was not expecting any real response or advice :man_facepalming:, ( Sorry for my cynicism !! ).
To be clear… Here are my consistent and constant problems in a nutshell…

( Once I change my ten categories back to “Library” I can see my content … Again. )

I think that is happening because your library recommended from screenshot Plex defaults don’t serve the users - #8 by gazski is all blank with nothing ticked/enabled.

Select what you want and then it should show up in the client on that libraries recommend tab.

I think what he means is the app is not remembering the last tab he was on in a library. Which I see it do when it updates on my android devices… I just switch to the view I need at the time I open it and move on with my life.

:joy::rofl::joy:…. U are right ! There are a few larger problems in the world :sunglasses:…. And I’m going to let it go ! … seem to remember that from something I watched :innocent:

@gazski Could you check whether Remember Selected Tab is enabled on both Apple TV and iOS? Go to Settings → Experience → Remember Selected Tab. Enabling it on one client (e.g. the web app) will not apply to others.
