Hi all.
I’ve been having a problem for about a year or so now, where Plex has decided to randomly throw my server off the network completely. I thought this was just Windows being Windows, so I performed a clean format of W7 and went to W10. The issue still occurs. Cannot ping or remotely connect to it at all, and the server must be physically rebooted.
After a hard reboot, things start working again (or until Plex decides to throw a fit and knock it off the network). The issue has been raised before, but no fix seems to have been identified - either that, or it’s back: Plex Server Keeps Disconnecting the PC from the network.......
For a long time, I had no idea how/what/why it would do this but I believe I can invoke the ‘network disconnect’ by doing one specific thing - forwarding the video media ‘quickly’ - skipping forward on the remote as fast as possible in 10s intervals, successively. Doing this on an Apple TV 4K. I’ve been doing it using fairly small HEVC media files also (~500mb). I believe I’ve also done it on the macOS client, but its a rarity that it happens on there.
Any help (or assistance I can provide) to remedy the issue would be greatly appreciated, as I’m getting tired of hard rebooting (especially when other people are connected and doing this unwittingly).
Cheers.
