All of a sudden my Plex can not find my server. It was working yesterday. When I try to Plex, I get window advertising Plex Pass. I close that and at top left it says “Searching for Media Server”.
What the heck is going on?

This is BS. I reinstalled the Plex Media Server and the result are the same when try run the Media Server. The Plex icon showing next to my clock. I am running Windows 7.
I have NO clue why Plex is doing this. I really do need some help.
Maybe your web browser is logged in with a Google account, whereas previously you logged in with email address and passwort.
The server might still be using this old logon credentials. That’s why your web browser cannot see your server.
Actually I signed with a username and password. I still can NOT open plex by using the icon down by the clock. I see enter Plex by going to www.plex.tv . The problem is that it can NOT add movies that I had entered into my library before.
I just can not understand what the heck is going on and how to fix it.
The plex account you are signed into with your web browser doesn’t have a server in it and is only 14 days old.
If you have the server installed as well and it is running, then it must use a different plex account. The result: your web browser won’t see your server.
You must bring both into the same plex account. If you don’t remember the username and password which you used to install the server, then you must perform this procedure to change the plex account which the server is using:
H
Those are in order of what I see. Mainly it will NOT let me install a newer version of the Plex Server
When I click on the “install now”, I get the second popup. It is enough to drive a person to drink.
