At a certain point PMS on Synology DSM 6 stopped recognizing new TV shows added to the media library. I add new files for new TV show and nothing happens. I can still see my old TV shows and movies.
I also found a pretty interesting looking suggestion to increase a number of folders Plex can monitor Synology FAQ - Questions, Answers, and a few How-To's - #22 by ChuckPa
But the problem is that i only have 1710 directories in the media share and i could not understand is it a lot or not.
Even if you have too many folders for the Syno to keep track and notify Plex about newly added files, manually scanning them should always find/add your files to the library.
What scanner/agent have you configured for this particular library (⋮ > Manage Library > Edit... → Advanced)?
Can you share an example of the naming for those newly added files doesn’t recognize (file name and folder structure)?

I see, makes sense indeed.

Scanner: Plex TV Series
Agent: Plex TV Series

/Volumes/media/TV Shows/To Your Eternity (2021)/Season 01/To Your Eternity - e01s01.mkv
In general i am familiar with the naming requirements which are pretty forgiving btw. For the second example i tried both with and without year and some other adjustments, doesn’t seem to make any difference. In my experience, even if the naming is messed up it may detect the media incorrectly, but it doesn’t ignore it.
Oh no man, it really fixed it!! I can’t believe that I didn’t notice such detail and I never did this mistake in the past. But I’m glad that it turned out to be that simple, thank you very much for the help!
