So I just bought an HD antenna and the Hauppauge Duo tuner for Win.
Set up the DVR no problem. Scanned the channels fine using PMS running on my media PC.
Then I see that the live channels are not available on my TV which uses Roku to run PLEX.
I attached the PLEX web page below. It clearly states the devices supported for DVR. Furthermore, each PLEX app page listed on the PLEX website also has a dot next to DVR for Roku.
So what gives?
Why does PLEX state it supports Roku and many other devices?
How can I know if a new app version for Roku is pending?
First (and most important) - Live TV and DVR are not the same thing.
Your Roku supports the playing back of DVR’d shows.
I cannot find the page you posted but I bet if you click on the link in the sentence “DVR scheduling is only available on specific platforms.” you would have seen more info some of the current limitations. So would a good search of the FAQ and this sub forum.
A good search fof this sub forum would have yielded many, many, many posts about this same thing and the fact that - Yes, more platforms are coming and no there is no timeline as Plex does not give timelines.
Another thing that a search would have revealed is that people are currently having varying degrees of success with Live TV as it is still in Beta.
Enjoy your DVR capabilities (I am, loadiing up my library with some great older shows) and be patient.
Really appreciate the snarky comment. I came to a forum seeking updated info. Of course I see that there are 2 or 3 posts at best. They’re also old. I was hoping someone would say “hey, PLEX just updated live tv for Amazon fire tv” or something similar. Websites aren’t always up to date.
Instead, I get the policeman of the forum to tell me why I’m stupid and it’s all my fault. Thanks. Really a welcoming response.
If you can’t admit that PLEX website is misleading at best than I can’t say anything else. Just move on.

The best place to get a list of currently supported apps for Live TV is the Live TV FAQ page.

Sorry if you thought that was a “snarky comment” but I was just stating facts. I did a search and came up with 17 posts about what devices can be used for “Live TV”.
But then you think Live TV and DVR are the same thing so it is understandable why you have other issues and can’t correctly read a web page which gives clear information.

Live tv is only available for android and iOS at the moment, and the DVR function and live tv functions are still in beta. This is the information I read on the website before I began using these features.
If you check back frequently, I feel sure that someone will give you the information that you need if something changes.
There’s also a pretty handy search function on the forums. I’ll be happy to help you out with a tutorial if you think that would help you out.
I have also seen some posts on the forum referencing a new Android Beta program that some users are using to run Live TV on their Android Mobile devices so support for Android Mobile is probably coming soon. Unfortunately it sounds like the Beta is by invite from Plex.

No, you just go to the Android board and read the beta sign up post. Once you sign up, and Plex approves it, you get access.
Okay I get that DVR and Live TV are different but does anyone have an idea on when we can even access DVR control (i.e. selecting a show to record) on a fire tv/firestick?

No. Only Plex knows the product release schedule and they aren’t telling.

WoW… simply WoW… it’s BETA… Maybe his response is because you were in attack mode in your original post because of beta functions that don’t work the way you read them to work. Some things work and some things don’t. Don’t have an aneurysm level melt down over BETA software. It’s pretty clear that Live TV and DVR Playback are two different things and Live TV is only supported on a few devices, while DVR playback is via the Plex App which is supported on just about anything a processor in it nowadays.
