Plex DVR with VBox XTi 3452: No channels found

Server Version#: 1.25.5.5492
Tuner Make/Model: VBox TV Gateway for Cable - XTi 3452
Using XMLTV?: Yes

Hello together
I try to setup Live TV / DVR in Plex. For that I bought an supported tuner (VBox XTi 3452). The tuner works. I can use it with the crappy VBox app, VLC and also the integration in Jellyfin works perfect.
Then I try Plex. The tuner was found in the network. I use the xmltv-File (vboxXmltv.xml). That is still working in the wizzard, then after some waiting I came on a screen where i can start the channel search. The search starts, but after some seconds i bacame the message “No channel found” and that is the end of the story :frowning:
When I download the logs, I see in the Plex Media Server Log a lot of the following xml errors:

Perhaps anyone have an idea what the problem is or how I can fix it.

Regards

Without seeing the XMLTV file it’s hard to say for certain, but Plex’s parser definitely doesn’t like something about it. It could be poorly formatted, or maybe it’s using an encoding Plex doesn’t understand? Either way, it’s running into some characters it doesn’t like.

If you can share the XMLTV file you’re feeding Plex I may be able to assist further; I have some limited experience in writing tools which generate valid XMLTV.

Thank you for the support. The XML is generated from the VBox-Tuner. I add the URL http://192.168.2.12:55555/vboxXmltv.xml in the Plex DVR wizzard.
Here an example of the content of the file:

The file is huge, then after the channel listing there came the EPG-Content for all channels.

Would it be possible for you to download the file and post it here? Or at least the first 1000 or so lines of it?

vboxXmltv.zip (1.0 MB)

The complete XML is attached.
Thank you.

A number of vbox related issues have been fixed in the hosted Plex Web app available through https://app.plex.tv/desktop - the fixes are not yet available through the bundled Plex Web that is accessible through the server IP address

If problems persist when using the hosted Plex Web app, please reproduce the issue with debug server logging enabled and a fresh restart of the server and going through DVR setup to create the DVR - please then provide server logs zip and fresh copy of the latest xmltv data used
