Hi All,
Been having trouble figuring out how to embed episode titles into my mp4 files. I’ve got a bunch of videos organised properly into season and episode folders which are fine but the episode titles are showing as dates. Is there any way to modify them at the file level so if i need to rebuild, the tags will be picked up automatically

It’s the “title” field for the file. Depending on your OS, you may need a special program to do this. In Windows, you can get to it by right clicking then selecting properties, then the details tab. Please note that Plex only reads this when the file is first added, so if you edit this title field, you’ll need to do a Plex Dance of the file for the title to get picked up.

EDIT : Just redid the entire library and now my artwork has stopped showing.
Folder structure and naming is as follows
The second part of the title (tybw) is in lowercase despite my naming scheme using caps which is odd.
Local media assets is set to the top

I was able to fix this by right clicking on the tv show > match and selecting personal media. Hope this helps in your investigation
