Plex failing to launch on Qnap TS-251

Player Version#: QTS 4.3

Hi,

I’m struggling to launch Plex on my Qnap since the recent firmware update. So far I have tried stopping and restarting PMS. I even resulted on a full factory reset of my Qnap and reinstalling everything and its still not opening.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Is this a known issue?

What error message(s) show in the QTS log?

Hi ChuckPa,

It’s just the TS-251.

I’ve check the system log and can’t see any entry. I hope I’m checking the right place: Control Panel - system logs?

When I click on the Plex icon it tries to open https://192.168.1.64:32400/web but it immediately comes up with an error message “failed to open page”. I’ve tried both on Safari and Chrome.

I’ve just located the Plex log:

Since you did a factory reset, and reinstalled, your PMS is not claimed, and as such, not responding to https, so from a browser, try: http://192.168.1.64:32400/web instead
