Plex fails to match any metadata

Server Version#: UnRAID Linux 4.19.107-Unraid
Player Version#: 4.63.0

Hi All

I am running PMS in an UnRAID docker, so dont hev any more info about the o/s than posted above…

Anyway, over the last few weeks I have noticed the Metadata match becoming more and more unreliable. Quite often if a movie isnt matched I have found rebooting my Plex server fixed the problem. When you try to manually match, it instantly says “No Matches Found”, this is the same even when you try to use a different Agent.

Anyway, today I reorganised my movie collection into one movie per one folder, in order to import my movie collection into the new version of Radarr. Previously some were in folders and older ones werent.

Once the folder structure was created and the movies imported I went into plex to re-scan the movies and that was where the issues started. I now have hundreds of movies with no metadata at all. If I manually try to match it just instantly says no match!

The file naming convention is /movie name (year)/movie name.MP4/mkv/etc

I am not sure where to start to try and fix this, so would appreciate any pointers on a starting point.

Thanks

One other thing I have noticed is that on a couple of movies I clciked “Analyze” and they are sitting there with a spinning “wand” icon which never seems to stop.

I guess this could be an issue with the container restrictions you applied when configuring this setup – or some other kind of communication restriction that blocks Plex from connecting to the agent’s online repositories. In that case your server logs should show a number of ERROR and WARN lines w/ CURL errors where Plex tries to match your media and collect its metadata.

Thanks @tom80H

I ended up building a new Plex server using Ubuntu 20.04, instead of someone elses docker, and it worked perfectly and correctly downloaded all the metadata within a short span of time.
