Plex Media Server | Metadata Issues

Hi all,

I have recently setup a headless Plex Media Server using Plex Drive on Ubuntu 16.04.

So far I have had no problems and its performance compared to Plex Cloud has been impressive.

It managed to scan and download metadata for all my items with no issues whatsoever.

I have added some items today to TV Shows and Movies. The info for TV Shows was fine and grabbed the covers and info without an issue. The movies however just create screen shots for covers.

I have tried unmatching and rematching. When I manually try matching it just searches and searches with no results.

I renamed the files and this didn’t help.

Changed the agent order in server settings.

Restarted Plex Media Server.

Still no joy.

Its had no issues the past couple of days and now it won’t match.

The only difference I can see is that these files are MP4.

Two things may be happening: 1) your files aren’t named in accordance with the Plex naming convention, 2) there’s metadata in the mp4 files that Plex is using instead of matching with an online database, and you have local assets above all other online sources in your agent settings.

that might because the metadata information is offline, tvdb is not working and early today nor TMDB

@seven_ I think you were correct as miraculously it has started working.

@kegobeer-plex I have been plexing a long time now and always keep my file names correct :wink:
