Plex for android stops music playback when phone goes to sleep

This is just a continuation of similar topics that have all been closed automatically:
as has been stated repeatedly, the Android Plex app stops playing music after a while, because the OS puts it to sleep.

I found the settings to fix this for Android 12:

  1. got to the Android settings
  2. go to “Apps”
  3. find “Plex” in there and click on it
  4. click on “Battery”
  5. Switch “Manage battery usage” from “Optimized” to “Unrestricted”

Of course it’s only Plex that has this problem. Other apps (like PocketCasts) just do the right thing and keep playing.
So it would be worthwhile for the Plex team to take a closer look at the Android APIs and figure out how to prevent this from happening from within the app itself, instead of users needing to dig through obscure Android OS settings.
