I have music playing through plex, then I go to Facebook, or pinterest, or any other app. Sometimes it takes minutes, sometimes seconds, sometimes hours, but plex will shut down and the music will stop. I will then have to open the app, where it will restart and I have to go find the cd again. Ugh. It happens sometimes 5 times in an hour. It is just super fricken irritating. Any ideas on how to fix this, or is this just a bug?
My bet would be the over-zealous power management of your phone.
Some brands are making them pretty aggressive by default. If an app is put in the background it gets suspended pretty fast, to save precious battery charge.
Check if your phone is in battery-saving mode.
Some phones enter that state automatically if the battery charge goes below a certain threshold.
In the preferences of the phone you can usually set a flag on every installed app, whether it can be subjected to an aggressive power management or not.
Apps & Notifications / All Apps / Plex / Advanced / Battery /
- Limit background activity
- Battery optimization
Try switching either or both off.
Followed the directions exactly. Turned them both off.
40 minutes later, plex shut off again. 
I left it for a couple days to see if it improved at all, and nope. Its still about once an hour.
