its has worked for me
Yup, log checked. Looks like no DNS issue.
Look at them
04-30 18:25:25.336 e: An exception occurred: com.google.android.exoplayer2.r: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException

Switching to old player at 04-30 18:25:50.120 i: [UserAction] Preference âEnable new video playerâ changed to false
All is OK then.
After Android update and Plex App update I am still experiencing that I canât play using the New Player function. Works ok when disabled butâŠ
Plex logs 01052020.txt (1.2 MB)
I doubt plex team ever bothered to fix it.
Hi,
Mine is working after I disabled the new player.
But now I have issue with forward within movies, itâs just stuck and and not playing, I need to play the movie from beggining.
Does anyone have a solution for me?
SOLVED. I have restored (hard reset) MiBox S and installed the Plex app again after updating the server (NAS Synology). All works perfect.
Same issue here. Factory reset doesnt help. Only disableing the new player helps.
I hope Plex can update the app soon.
Maybe test this and report back in the other thread:
Thanks for pointing this Coxeroni. Will test asap.
Any idea on how to install custom apk on mibox ?
I donât own that device. My shield has a smb share I can copy files to and install with a file explorer. The other alternative is to sideload with adb.
Hi i have same problem
Plex support help you?
Download apk using your phone/PC.
Move it to your Google drive.
Turn on mi box, log on the same Google account.
Open File Commander app (download it on Google Play Store) and access your Google drive folder from there. Locate the apk and move it to your mi box downloads folder.
Without leaving the app, go to your downloads folder, locate and run apk.
Allow unknown source installation and install it.
One other problem with plex client app v 8.0.0.17276, on mi box s, is if external subtitles on (SRT, for exemple), the movie doesnât start, but as soon as I turn off subs, the movie start playing.
Tested with older version of Plex App client on MiBox s (v7.31.0.16802), and no issues at all!
I donât have this issue at all. Mi box s, latest Android 9 update. Using the custom apk
2 MiBox S, and same problem on both.
Already tried to clean cache and data, uninstall and installed again plex, nothing solved the issue.
Uninstall this last version and installed a previous one, all issues gone, except I have to disable ânew video playerâ independently the version installed or not playing at all any video.
Working using custom apk <3
I managed to install Armv7a version. I could not install the other one after that. Maybe I should have uninstalled Plex then try to install Arm64v8a. Donât know the differences.*
Here are the logs : plex_client_arm7a-apk.txt (241.9 KB)
Thank you guys for your help. Hope this fix will be part of next versions.
It is either or depending on which device you have. Google will tell you more about that, it is the architecture of the chip/processor.
Did you test Plex 8.1.0.17362 Armv7a version?
Correction only worked for couple of videos. Sorry.
Working for me!
