Since the update to the PS4 Plex app all of my MP4 files that use AC3 will not play audio. MKV files with AC3 play fine, as do others. Its just any MP4 files I play that uses AC3 will not play audio. This didn’t become an issue until after I updated the app. Just something you guys may want to look in to. Thanks!

Since the update I’m having the same issue as the previous poster. MP4 files that use AC3 will not play audio. These same files worked perfectly before the update.
Also, I’m having an issue using a Logitech harmony remote to contol the ps4 app. The circle button on the harmony remote does not register with the app, and I cannot back out of any menus. In the old version of the ps4 app there was an x button at the top of each menu that could be used to get out of the menu. However, now the only way to exit a menu is to press the circle button on the remote, which does not work.
Please look into this. Thank you.

Thank you, but I don’t see my channels on the home page at the bottom. The last thing on the page is ‘My Newscast’. My app is synced with both a local and remote server, would that cause any conflicts? I don’t see an option to switch between servers like the previous app.
You will need to change the dashboard to one for the server you have plugins installed on. To do that change to one of the library types and switch to a library dashboard for the server you want to use. Then switch back to the home dashboard. Pretty awkward at the moment but changes are coming around that area.

Something minor I should’ve mentioned during the beta (sorry), but the new app appears to have some issues with Asian languages. I’ve got an album artist’s name in Japanese, and her first name appears correctly in katakana, but the kanji are showing as question mark boxes. Katakana showing is a good sign, it just looks like Chinese characters aren’t working.
@androvsky A fix for that was just released along with a fix for the no audio for AC3 tracks issue.

This update is the worst thing, ever happened to Plex.
I was happy and had no problems with the old UI and all the others users on my server was satisfied. Now everything got blown to hell. The UI are cluncky, and ugly. It’s takes me 10 times as long to get a tv show episode started, than before. Today i have had 12 crashes. That’s more than 1 year with the old update. But okay i know i have to live with other peoples choices, but i’m DIFFENTLY not satisfied. This are freaking ■■■■.
And to make it worse, 3 hours ago my mother in law called me, telling that her PS4 slim couldn’t log on to plex. I have wasted 3 hours working with it now, and it still can’t login. The first start after the install, it logs in, but have problems with starting anything. If i close the app and reopen it. It just stands with the loading circle forever. Sometimes it takes 1 restart to get to login again. Sometimes 100 restarts.
- I have tried everything. Now i have taken her playstation and she is sad. Plex was her life.

So I like the new UI for the most part with a couple of exceptions.
My grievances :
-The overall speed since it’s on an sshd it shouldn’t be so slow.
-The overwhelming terrible issue is it has broken my harmony hub setup. I have everything programmed in a way that has worked for ages. The red button on the remote is circle, green is triangle, blue is cross, and yellow is square. These always worked before but now when I open certain context menus like subtitles I can’t exit the menu by pressing anything other than circle on the ps4 controller unless I hard close the app.
- another issue with the harmony hub is that now if I go to power off my Living room setup which is a single off button, plex will reopen from minimized and fast forward whatever was last watched, instead of powering everything down as it would normally do.
If plex is hard closed, everything works as normal in other services
Dude agreed on the slowness, everything looks awesome, but it’s sooooo slow!

Same here. The latest update seems to have potential but is much slower but what is way worse is that it crashes at least once per movie. Unusable as is. Before there was “only” one crash every couple of days (as if that is not bad enough already).
I hope the bugs, ie crashes, get fixed first instead of focusing on new features.

Yeesh.
- interface is sluggish and jerky
- basic elements from the old ui, like “browse all,” are obscured or absent
- library tabs are scrunched in the top left for no reason
- controller bindings during playback–what happened to step forward/back?
I suggest extending the option to switch back to the “Classic” interface until this gets way more polish.

1080p HEVC is now unplayable with the new app. The audio is fine but the screen is completely digitized.

Is there a possibility that the issue with the harmony hub can be addressed? i. e. The circle button does not work with the plex app and you can’t back out of any settings menus. At a minimum if you could implement an “X” button in the top right of the menu this would work as well.

im just really glad im not longer have plex pass…
im going back to the old software “ps3 media center” least that works without this ugly UI where everything is hard to find and work with. especially as the menu to access tv or film etc is along the top not the side! so you cant even VIEW the whole list as i have several folders (Tv, Anime Tv, anime films, films, others, etc etc
