I don’t care ss much about the new free content or the bifurcation of the Desktop and TV UI of the PC apps, but what i do care about are apps that have proper core functionality, and the Plex for Windows app absolutely does NOT have that.
With PMP I could go into the “TV” ui and change video and sound output settings such as proper audio bitstreaming and proper HDR output settings because these settings were not implemented in the “Desktop” UI for whatever reason and then switch back to the “Desktop” UI and those settings would remain.
Kind of a pain in rear but it worked beautifully,
Today i get a message from PMP that in the future the “Desktop UI” will no longer remain in PMP and that I should download plex for windows app, ok I did that last time but the UI did not respect desktop resolution however that now seems fixed, BUT BUT BUT it will not properly play audio, it will not bitstream, and with or without hardware acceleration will not display HDR properly, PLEASE tell me that the ability to change these settings is coming to future version of Plex for windows?
I HATE HATE HATE using the “TV UI” on my desktop, I want to use a mouse not the keyboard arrows for control but if the app that has the “Desktop UI” is functionally borked and there is no user access to fix these settings then i may have to end up canceling my plex pass and going back to doing things by hand.
So again please tell me that these functions and settings are coming???
or at the very lease someone let me know how i can make these changes another way
