Plex forcing transcoding EAC3 to OPUS on Shield but not Firestick?

When I play a file from my Nvidia Shield TV while using Bluetooth headphones, it annoyingly transcodes EAC3 to OPUS. When I play the file through the TV and connect the headphones while the file is playing, it miraculously direct plays EAC3. When I play through Kodi, it direct plays EAC3. When I play the same file using the same headphones on my Firestick (instead of the Shield), it direct plays EAC3 without issue. Why would it direct play with the Firestick but not Shield? What is going on here?

Does it really matter? The headphones convert whatever it’s getting to whatever Bluetooth codec it supports. Bluetooth doesn’t support eac3 or Opus.

Yeah my server does not have the capacity to transcode.
