Plex freezing on install for QNAP

I downloaded the latest package for Plex for QNAP (PlexMediaServer_1.13.0.5023-31d3c0c65_x86_64.qpkg) and began the install process. Once the app was installed, it took me to the app itself for setup, but I keep getting the following error:

No matter what I do, that error pops up. Then it can never find my server again and I’m stuck removing everything and starting over. Done it 3 times now and it’s starting to get old. Anyone ever had this issue? What can I do? HELP!

My NAS is a QNAP TS-451+, 8GB of RAM and 4 4TB HD’s.

I am running the latest firmware as well. Version 4.3.4.0569

I normally see this on low powered QNAP’s, when busy doing other stuff, or when trying before PMS is not yet fully up running

Odd. My NAS had no other background applications or jobs working. It was idle. Same result.

It’s a brand new machine, I would suspect it’s low powered by any means. What exactly do you mean when you say PMS? Just curious, my system had been on for hours (sitting idle while I’m at work) before I started the process of installing Plex.

“I wouldN’T suspect it’s low powered by any means”… is what I mean’t to say in the previous response. Oops.

PMS = Plex Media Server

First of all, try another browser, and if still not working, then we need logs
(See my signature for logs)

LOL, I’m an idiot on the PMS thing. Can you tell I just downloaded it? :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m going to give it one more shot and I’ll report back. I appreciate the assistance dane!

I think this is the issue. I believe QNAP broke something. Plex is having issues with the newer QNAP firmware. One of the Plex staff raised a ticket with QNAP, more info here:

You can try to rollback to an older QNAP firmware and see if that helps.
