Plex gets metadata for newer version of TV Shows

How do I force Plex to get the correct Metadata for older TV shows when there is a newer one with the same name?

For example, the original Knight Rider is in my collection, but Plex gets metadata for the Knight Rider 2008 series.

TVDB doesn’t list any special add on for the older show, so I have named the files based on the series name “Knight Rider”.

Thanks. That worked for Knight Rider and V, but not for Merlin.

I have the 1998 miniseries, not the 2008 TV series. My file structure is Merlin (1998)\Season 01\Merlin - S01 E01.MKV

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
