So I have my movie library set to “rotten tomatoes” under the “ratings source” box. Yet I have a fair amount of movies that are rated using there IMDB score. Now I’ve checked them all and most of them do have a rotten tomatoes score. During my process of trying to fix these I’ve also noticed there are a fair amount that have the completely wrong score when checked against the rotten tomatoes page.
Fixes I’ve already tried:
-I have tried refreshing meta data on the individual movies
-I have tried refreshing meta data for the whole library
-Tried fixing match/re matching the individual movies
None of those has had any affect, in fact after I refreshed the whole library it seems that even more movies have had the wrong score added.
I’m at a total loss and really would like this fixed as a lot of my users like the scores, does anyone have any ideas why this would be happening and how I can fix it?
I’m going to attach some photos of both issues so you know what I’m talking about
Above image has John mulaney baby J, madagascar 3, my neighbor totoro, a nightmare on elmstreet all with IMDB scores even though they all have rotten tomato scores. Keep in mind this is after all the attempted steps above, and this is only a couple of movies, there are plenty more like this
For my other issue I just picked the prince of Egypt at random. On rotten tomatoes it has a critic rating of 79% and audience rating of 89%, yet on my server it has one score of 92, how does this even happen?? Once again this is after all refreshing steps
Please help?
(hopefully the images work, not sure if I did it right )
First things first, what agent and scanner are you using ? If its not the new modern Plex Movie scanner/agent then that is most likely the reason for the odd results so lets confirm that first.
Also, server logs should be helpful to debug. Just refresh the metadata on a movie and then upload the logs so we can see what might be happening.
Thanks for the response! I have both agent and scanner as “plex movie”. I’ve just done as you suggested with the logs for the movie “Madagascar 3 - Europe’s Most Wanted” which is showing an IMDB rating, I’ll put the results below Plex Media Server Logs_2024-02-20_19-47-36.zip (6.7 MB)
Your logs look clean enough to me. Couple of slow queries but nothing I can see which would explain what you are seeing. I do see this …
Feb 20, 2024 19:10:43.409 [140384812518200] WARN - [HttpClient/HCl#6040] HTTP error requesting GET https://122-151-58-119.7920d36f879f410f9efa17182fa7ea55.plex.direct:16898/identity (7, Couldn't connect to server) (Failed to connect to 122-151-58-119.7920d36f879f410f9efa17182fa7ea55.plex.direct port 16898 after 0 ms: Couldn't connect to server)
… but again, not sure that would explain your problem. Maybe someone else will take a look and see what is happening. I assume you have already tried a restart of your server to see if that helps ?
What exactly does that error in the logs mean? (sorry I’m pretty new to all this) I have tried restarting server, still no luck . Appreciate the help though, hopefully someone can figure it out!
