Hi any idea about this?
Add /tv/S/The Saint/Season 05/The Saint - s05e01 - The Queen’s Ransom.mkv
Plex respons is Title = BLEND-S
Click … on BLEND-S choose Unmatch,
It’s renamed to S
Click … on S choose Match
The Saint is not listed, click Search Options, type The Saint in Title and click Search.
The Saint 1962 100 shows up.
Click The Saint, everything looks OK.
Add tv/S/Star Trek - The Next Generation/Season 05/Star Trek - The Next Generation - s05e01 - Redemption Part II.mkv
This will not show up as a new entry in the library.
But as a new version in The Saint.
What to do?
Obviously does Plex have some difficulty determine what tv show it has find.
How can I assist Plex in it’s learning process?
You have to make sure the file is named so that it’s in the correct format PLEX will read and determine if it’s a TVSHOW or Movie… sounds like you found it. Sometimes, I found the " ( " and " ) " don’t play nice when named on a file. Just another trick I’ve learned over the years of using PLEX.
You’re absolutely correct there. Plex is I would say extremely picky on how you name your TV-shows
This problem I had putting files under an index folder (a,b,c) and so forth is something that probably could be handled by a setting in Plex admin interface in the future.
Hopefully this could become a feature in some release in the future
Thank’s for your input in this and a merry Christmas
