Plex iOS App Automatically Adding Channels to Favorites (How to Purge or Reset?)

Hi everyone,

I’ve noticed an issue with the Plex iOS app where it automatically adds Live TV channels to the Favorites list without me selecting them.

Problem

On my iPhone and iPad, the Favorites tab under Live TV is showing a long list of channels that I never manually marked as favorites.

Even after I remove them, new or random ones sometimes appear again after refreshing the guide or restarting the app.

This only happens on iOS clients — not on Apple TV or the web app, where my favorites list stays exactly as I set it.

What I’ve Tried

  • Removing all channels from Favorites manually (they return later)

  • Signing out and back into the Plex iOS app

  • Clearing guide data and refreshing the DVR

  • Reinstalling the iOS app

  • Checking the server’s DVR settings (no auto-favorites option found)

Despite this, the iOS app keeps repopulating the Favorites tab on its own.

Question

Is there a way to completely purge or reset the Favorites list on iOS clients?

Does Plex store this list locally on the device, or is it synced with the account/server?

Any known workaround to stop the iOS app from automatically including channels as favorites?
